Description

An elegant antique hammered silver-plated liquor decanter by the Watrous Division of International Silver, executed in a classic Arts & Crafts style with a clean, utilitarian silhouette and hand-wrought character. This piece features a softly flared, flattened flask-like body with an allover planished (hammered) finish that catches the light beautifully and gives it that unmistakable early 20th-century handcrafted look.

The decanter is fitted with a screw-top cap at the neck and a substantial integral side loop handle near the shoulder, making it easy to carry or pour. The front is engraved “S.S.B.” within a rectangular cartouche, adding a personal, period touch and lending itself well to display in a bar cabinet, on a tray, or as part of an Arts & Crafts metalwork collection. Marked No. 858, this example is sized as a practical 1/2 pint decanter—perfect for spirits or for decorative use as vintage barware.
